| Walter (Wal) Reeve |
Walter, the oldest participant at 71yrs, is now the official first end-to-ender of the new Track having complete the 'new' Northern section (Perth to Karri Gully) on the 7th November 97, he finished the new Southern section at 1.20pm on Monday 12 October 98. Wal also complete the 'old' Track end-to-end three times having started walking at the recommendation of his doctor. He says "I never feel freer, better or more at ease that when I am in the bush". |
| Bonnie Hennessey |
Bonnie is Bibbulmun Walk 98 voluntary leader, pharmacist, grandmother, and experienced bushwalker. This will be her longest trek, but she has walked in New Zealand, Nepal and most recently in Turkey. Bonnie is also a valued CALM and Perth Zoo volunteer. |
| Jim & Mavis Freeman |
Jim is a pig farmer, aka 'The Mad Axeman', and famous for his return end-to-end (1300km) of the 'old' Track. Jim has walked the Milford Track in NZ and the Overland Track in Tasmania and wants to prove "that I can still do what a lot of young 'uns can't"! |

Peter has his own Management Consultancy and has embarked on a major new challenge having walked only up to 70 km total before (including a trek on the Inca Trail in Peru). He spent many months experimenting with camp meals at home whilst preparing for the walk. His loyal wife Jan has meanwhile lent a valuable hand at the 'Friends' office and keeps in touch with him where possible. |

Jan, in her late 30s and married with an 8 year old, was originally planning to walk end-to-end for her 40th birthday. She was attracted to the idea of walking in a group and believes that walking is the best way to experience a new area. |

John, a truck driver in his 60s is trying to control hisdiabetis through exercise and diet. He'd never walked more than a daybefore - but wanted to give it a go before he became too old andincapable. |
| Dave Hartley |
Dave, a married 49-year-old with 4 grandchildren, works at the Office of Energy. Dave also walked the old Track end-to-end in 1990, and on this walk he represents the West Australian Rogainers Association. |
| Adrienne Johnson |
Adrienne is the youngest end-to-ender at 35yrs and is a graphic designer. She has walked 1000 km in the Pyrenees and 600 km in the French Alps but has never set foot on the Bibbulmun before. She likes "the feeling of freedom, challenge and brewing up at the end of the day"! |
| Brian Torpy |
Brian is a retiree aged 66. He has been married 43 years to Pat and has seven grandchildren. The furthest he has walked before was 138 km on the Bibbulmun Track from Kalamunda to North Bannister over 5 days. He has also walked on the Bright Angel Trail in the Grand Canyon in very hot conditions and walks 10 km daily for fitness. He'd always been a long-distance runner and walking was a natural progression. |
