NatureBase – the Department of Conservation and Land Management’s world window on Western Australia – will provide a live coverage of next Tuesday’s solar eclipse. NatureBase – the Department of Conservation and Land Management’s world window on Western Australia – will provide a live coverage of next Tuesday’s solar eclipse.

CALM Executive Director Syd Shea said the Department had made arrangements with Perth-based Perth WA Livecam to provide a constant coverage of the eclipse from 2 o’clock on Tuesday afternoon.

Two web cameras will be used – one at Greenough (where the best view of the eclipse will be seen) and another at Kalamunda.

The eclipse is due to peak at around 3.24 pm.

CALM’s Perth Observatory would film the event and the video would be provided on NatureBase as a file that could be downloaded, free.

Dr Shea said the live coverage would enable people with access to the Internet to view the eclipse safely.

NatureBase is at www.naturebase.net
