  • Close to Bunbury in the Ferguson Valley, near the historic Wellington Mill townsite.
When:
  • Throughout the year, school terms
Time:
  • All excursions conducted between 10am - 2pm. Times for camps and short activities vary
Costs:
  • 4 hour excursions $7.15 (inc GST) per student
    Cost includes 10 per cent GST, which may be claimed for curriculum-based activities.
Group size:
  • Minimum number students per group – 25. (23 for Early Childhood) or equivalent payment.

Once your students have been busy in the forest graduate them to this investigative program where they learn detailed information about key species in the jarrah forest and learn that it is a very colourful place indeed! They participate in the Sense-ational trail and an exciting new treasure trail full of activities and experiences.

Djildjit the Nyoongar WayAboriginal Culture Program
Djildjit the Nyoongar Way - For Years 6–9

This excursion provides an exciting opportunity to further your students' knowledge, skills and understandings of Aboriginal culture in relation to food collection and fishing. Students will take part in string making and fish trapping techniques used by the Nyoongar people of the South West.

On this enlightening adventure, students will discover processes of environmental change, investigate these processes in the forest and attribute them to being either natural or human causes. Through studying the Wellington Discovery Centre's mural, students begin to appreciate how attitudes towards the forest and hence use of forest resources, have changed over time.

This excursion aims to raise awareness of terrestrial invertebrates and their importance to the health and biodiversity of
