The Department of Conservation and Land Management (CALM) whale disentanglement team has deployed from Fremantle to attempt to free a whale entangled in ropes off the coast near Seabird, near Ledge Point north of Perth.

CALM team rescues entangled whale

The Department of Conservation and Land Management’s (CALM) marine mammal disentanglement team has successfully freed a 9-10 metre humpback whale that was tangled up in fishing gear 16 nautical miles out to sea, south-west of the Dawesville Cut.
