This Pack:
Broadens teachers' and students' understanding of forest management issues that affect the quality and quantity of water collected from forested catchments supplying Perth and rural communities with fresh water;
Will prepare students for and offer follow up activities after an excursion to the jarrah forest, Catchment Carers' Trail .

This Training Manual:
Is designed to support a forest excursion, the Forest Detectives Trail with elements that can be used effectively at school independent of the excursion;
Helps to fulfil outcomes of the Curriculum Framework across all learning areas, particularly Society Environment, Science and English;
Aims to increase student understanding of the need for scientific research and how it contributes to conserving biodiversity.
